Natural, documentary-style portrait and family photography capturing genuine connection, personality, and everyday moments beautifully.
Based in West Sussex, these relaxed sessions are designed to feel calm, comfortable, and authentic — creating timeless images that reflect real life, real emotion, and the people you love most.
Portrait and family photography sessions are relaxed, natural, and documentary in style, focusing on genuine connection and real moments rather than perfectly posed images. Based in West Sussex, I create storytelling-led photography that captures people honestly — whether it’s couples, families, parent and child sessions, or simply documenting a moment in your life you want to remember.
Sessions are calm and unhurried, allowing space for natural interaction and personality to shine through. We might go for a walk, spend time at home, explore somewhere meaningful to you, or simply let things unfold naturally in a place where everyone feels comfortable.
Children are free to play, laugh, explore, and be completely themselves, without pressure or expectation. My approach is unobtrusive and relaxed, focusing on authentic emotion, connection, and the quiet in-between moments that often become the most meaningful photographs.
Sessions typically last around 1–2 hours and result in a gallery of timeless, emotive images that beautifully capture your relationships, personality, and this chapter of your life.

FAQs
What is a “documentary” session like?
It’s completely relaxed and unposed. Think of it less like a photoshoot and more like a fun family hangout. I won’t ask you to look at the camera and say “cheese.” Instead, I’ll capture your family naturally interacting, playing, and just being yourselves.
What if my kids won’t sit still or cooperate?
That is exactly what I want! They don’t need to sit still. Let them run, play, cry, or explore. My documentary approach thrives on real, unposed moments, and there is zero pressure for anyone to behave perfectly. If you are worried that your child has additional needs (SEND) and won’t be able to enjoy a photo session, please rest assured. I have extensive experience working with SEND children & young adults and adapting my sessions to suit every unique personality and pace, ensuring a relaxed and beautiful experience for your entire family.
I am awkward in front of the camera. Will you help?
Almost everyone feels this way at first, which is why we don’t do stiff, formal posing. Your only job is to focus on each other and enjoy the time together. Within a few minutes, you’ll forget the camera is even there and just enjoy being in the moment.
What should we wear?
Wear whatever you and your kids feel comfortable and happy in. If your child wants to wear their favorite superhero cape or a well-loved pair of boots, let them! Authentic trumps perfectly coordinated every time. The more comfortable you feel, the happier you will look.
Where do these sessions take place?
Wherever your family is happiest. This could be in the comfort of your own home, cooking breakfast or playing in the garden, or at a favorite local park, beach, or woods.
What happens if the weather is terrible?
If we are planning an outdoor session and the weather is miserable, we can easily reschedule for a better day. Alternatively, we can always move the session indoors to your home for a cozy, authentic rainy-day vibe.
How do we secure a date?
Just send a message through the contact page. We’ll find a date that works, and a quick digital contract and deposit will lock it in.
When and how do we get our images?
Within 2 to 3 weeks, you will receive a link to a private, password-protected online gallery. You can download your high-resolution images, share them with family, and order prints directly from the gallery.
